As America’s first drive-through cageless zoo, Lion Country Safari has been a leader in conservation since 1967. Lion Country Safari provides a habitat in which many endangered or threatened species live and reproduce. Today, Lion Country Safari is home to over 1000 animals in the drive-through preserve and in the Safari World exhibit area. Among the more notable species on display at the park are lions, white rhino, African elephants, chimpanzees, zebra, and giraffe. In its 35th year of operation, Lion Country Safari-Florida is one of South Florida's leading attractions and Palm Beach County's largest tourist attraction. Hundreds of thousands of peoplevisit Lion Country Safari every year to experience the thrill of eye-ball-to-eye-ball viewing of magnificent animals in a natural open environment. As Lion Country Safari looks to the future, the park is embarking on a major expansion of the Safari World walk-through area. The area will increase in size by 50%, add numerous attractions including birthday party rooms, new alligator exhibit, new giraffe feeding exhibit, a children's play area, water play area and facilities for large groups.
