People flock for Aussie-style, gargantuan eats
at Jupiter’s Outback.
The Scene
The car-filled parking lot is a dead giveaway to this highway chain's
popularity. The dining room is casual and comfy, with high-backed booths and
faux-Aussie goods hanging all about. Aboriginal artifacts, koala bears and a
menu inundated with "mate" and "bonzer" set this steakhouse
apart from the rest. Let your server know it's your first visit for a
five-minute recitation of what to order.

The Food
Everything is enormous here, from the ever popular Bloomin' Onion with crispy,
tear-off Vidalia slivers, to a rarer-the-better 20-ounce porterhouse steak.
Deep-fried coconut shrimp, perfect when dipped in tangy marmalade, is hard to
resist. Unlike high-profile steakhouses, thick, juicy steaks come with extras
here--opt for a crisp, garlicky Caesar salad and a giant, loaded baked-potato
with dinner. Moist barbecued chicken with steamed vegetables is a delicious,
light alternative. Still hungry? Loosen your belt and dig in to the Chocolate
Thunder brownie sundae for dessert. Tell your dining mates to get their own,
because you will not wish to share!
Kid's Menu
The "Joey Menu" is perfect for kids with a tyke-size steak, macaroni
and cheese, chicken fingers and more for under $5.
