FOR THE LOVE OF BIG BLUE
writes, "His eyes are sad, his body covered with sores, his paws swollen, but his tail wags and he greets everyone he meets with love. This is three year old Big Blue and he is in pain. Left behind at Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control’s night drop-off, Blue was diagnosed with severe mange, and a serious skin infection. His skin infection is so advanced, he is on pain medication and requires special baths with medicated shampoo. "
Animal Care and Control is conducting a criminal investigation into who left Big Blue behind, a surveillance video which showed a white truck pulling up to the night-drop shortly before 8:30pm on a Sunday night. A man gets out and removes the dog from the bed of the truck, walks him into a cage and leaves the sick dog there without leaving his name.

After a week at Animal Care and Control, Big Blue is now at Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary & Hospital. The staff immediately fell in love with Blue and he will get the much needed care to put him on the road to recovery and into a forever home.

Animal control officers are asking anyone who may recognize the dog or the man who dropped him off to call their office at 561-233-1222 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS.

And if you're interested in following Blue’s progress or adopting him, please call Safe Harbor at 747-5311 or visit www.safeharborrescue.com.

Safe Harbor’s mission is to rescue homeless animals in need. Those that are injured, neglected, and abused take top priority. Safe Harbor refuses to believe that euthanasia is the only option for pet over population in this country. Safe Harbor offers low-cost spay/neuter services and a full service veterinary hospital open to the public.

Safe Harbor is located at 185 E. Indiantown Road, Jupiter. Call 747-5311 or visit www.safeharborrescue.com.
